OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible
The Old and New Testament Scriptures were inspired by God and declare the inerrant, eternal Word of God, and are the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (Psalm 119:89; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:23,25)
Triune God
One God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. Three in one, co-equal. All creation, both visible and invisible came through God. (Deut. 6:4; Matt 3:16-17; 28:19; John 1:1,14; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor 13:14; Col 1:15-17; 1 Peter 1:2)
Sin
Every person was separated from God when sin entered the world. Also, every person has sinned, and all need a Savior to be restored to the image-bearing glory bestowed by God in creation. All human relationships, systems, and institutions have been affected by sin. (Gen 1:27; 3:1-6; Rom 3:23; Eph 2:1-3)
Salvation
Through the sinless life, sacrificial death, and sure resurrection of Jesus Christ the atonement for sin and the work of salvation is complete. Receiving forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the only remedy for sin. (John 1:12-13; 3:16; Romans 3:23-26; 4:1-3; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
The Gospel
The gospel is the message of the life-conferring relationship made possible by the birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as it sets within the narrative of Scripture - Creation, Fall, Redemption and Restoration. All those who submit to that message become citizens of the kingdom that Jesus came to proclaim. (1 Cor 15:3-6, Rom 1:16-17, 1 Peter 1:10-11)
The Church
The Church is a loving fellowship, embracing people of all races, colors, and all different walks of life. Every believer is to be committed to a local congregation for personal growth, fellowship, service and evangelism. Believers acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their time, talents and money as they give these to His Kingdom. (Acts 2:42; 1 Cor 12:12-27; Eph 1:22-23; Titus 2:11-14; 2 John 9-11)
OUR CORE VALUES
Man
God created every person equally in his own image. As divine image-bearers, all people have infinite value and dignity before God. Everyone has been created by God and for God. We deny that socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religion, gender or physical condition or any other property of a person either negates or contributes to that individual’s worth as an image-bearer of God. This means that though people often can be distinguished by different ethnicities and nationalities, they are equals before God in both creation and redemption. Thus, we believe that all people deserve full honor, respect, and protection. (Gen 1:26-30, 2 Cor 5:17, Col 1:21-22)
Race / Ethnicity
Though people often can be distinguished by different ethnicities and nationalities, as divine image bearers they are equal before God in both creation and redemption. Therefore, all that is good, honest, just, and beautiful in various ethnic backgrounds and experiences can be celebrated as gifts from God. We believe that all forms of racism are sin, which could include attitude, action or inaction. (Genesis 1:26–28; Luke 10:25-37; Acts 17:24-26; Rom 10:12; James 4:17; 2 Peter 3:9)
